Physical Activity as a Medicine

Often referred to as a ‘wonder drug’, being physically active has important and wide-ranging health benefits. It’s proven to be an effective medicine for the prevention and treatment of disease, and is the cornerstone of many rehabilitation pathways. Our approach, which harnesses your everyday movement (not just exercise), makes this medicine accessible and appealing to everyone.

Multiple dimensions, all important to your health

There are different ways to harness the protective properties of physical activity because it has multiple independent biologically-important dimensions. Focusing on one dimension alone, like minutes of activity or the number of steps taken, creates a danger of developing a false picture of activity which may be detrimental to personal health outcomes. Our multidimensional approach gives you a comprehensive understanding of all your movement, and enables you to activities that fit into your lifestyle.

Patented method for using physical activity data in healthcare

We evaluate your physical activity data with our patented method of analysis, incorporating robust proprietary algorithms, which ensures data is accurate, complete and representative. This is a crucial step for making physical activity data meaningful and actionable in the context of healthcare, and preventing detrimental behaviour change. Our method enables the safe, controlled and consistent use of physical activity data for healthcare.
